My gmail account keeps asking me to sign in every other 5 minutes. I didn't change a thing on my setting and up until yesterday evening the gmail still stayed signed in. I tried to add google.com, gmail ect. in Exception, but it didn't help. When I was trying to leave a comment on youtube, I had to sign in every single time.

Could be a problem with the cookies. Do you have an extension that deals with cookies ?

You can clear the Cache and remove the Cookies for websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Settings).

"Remove the Cookies" for websites that cause problems:

  • Settings -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data: "Manage Data"

"Clear the Cache":

  • Settings -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data -> Clear Data -> [X] Cached Web Content -> Clear

If clearing cookies doesn't help, it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file in the Firefox profile folder that stores the cookies got corrupted.

Thank you so much for your reply! I did try to clear the cache and cookies, which didn't help. However, I disabled all the extensions and google didn't sign me out...so I put the extension one by one back to test which one was the cause of the problem. It was the Email Notifier. So far, it works, and I really hope it stays. I have no similar problem with Chrome though.
