I cannot send or receive email attachments that are password protected
I am able to send and receive emails with UN-password protected documents, but ones that have are protected or have protected fields within the document I cannot send or receive. Additionally, I do not get any notification that the email was not accepted; BIG problem!

As attachments are actually converted to text, (that is what MIME ENCODING is) before they leave Thunderbird, you looking for software that reconstitutes the file and then blocks it. Sounds very like anti virus activity, or one of those corporate data protection snoop software's.
