I cannot turn off my private browser, nothing happens when I click on link or use Ctl,+Shift+P
This has only happened recently. Drop down menu appears okay but nothing happens when clicking on the Stop Private Browsing link or Ctl+Shift+P. I have done this operation many times in the past but now I am stuck in Private Browser mode.

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode.
- You enter Private Browsing mode if you select: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Never Remember History"
- To see all History and Cookie settings, choose: Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting Firefox will: Use custom settings for history
- Deselect: [ ] "Permanent Private Browsing mode"
This makes perfect sense to me however, the settings were exactly as you mentioned. I reset everything anyway and nothing changes. I am going to uninstall Firefox and reinstall. I believe I have some trojon spyware or somthing.
Make sure that you do not start Firefox with the -private switch added to the command line.
You can check the Target field in the Properties of the Firefox desktop shortcut.
