Firefox remains "offline" upon connection to a new network

Using firefox 4 RC1 on my school network, and putting the laptop into sleep mode causes the browser to get stuck offline when I turn the laptop back on at home...

Firefox won't load any pages untill the process is ended and the browser is restarted. Other browsers work fine...
