After updating to the Thunderbird Beta 85.0B1 the update created problem with Win 10 taskbar at bottom. The Thunderbird icon at the base has changed and will not activate the program nor can it just simply be removed and changed.

Try rebuilding the icon cache:

The icon for 85b1 is correct here, so I don't think this is a TB problem.

i have the same issue. after every thunderbird update the program link in the taskbar is broken and windows10 remove it. this usualy happen after you restart the pc (or wake from stand by), until you don't restart the icon link may or may not working but after restarting windows replace the thunderbird icon with an empty one and if you click on it say that can't find the program and ask you if you want to remove the link. for have it back i need to open thunderbird from the start menu and pin it again in the taskbar

i noticed i have 46 thunderbird shortcut in the folder

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar

now i removed all of them and pinned again thunderbird. I will see if the next time there is an update the problem is gone or not.
