Latest Firefox Crashes
I've downgraded to v. 57.0.4 (32 bit) from some version of v.58 because of crashes. Most of the updates had solved a lot of the old problems, but 58 seems to have my system hitting a wall, again. Here are crashes just from today in the last few hours:

Actually, this is starting to happen in the downgraded version, too.

This looks to be basically the same crashes I was experiencing in version 52, but the versions of 53 seemed to have corrected was was going wrong (mostly - save for shutdown crashes), before returning in 58.

More than this, every time I restart to get a new session it automatically upgrades me again. I thought maybe this could be changed in settings, but it appears Firefox doesn't allow users to manually allow the updates, anymore?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

The reports are shutdown crashes where Firefox takes to long to close and a crash is forced.
Use one of these to close Firefox if you are currently doing that by clicking the close X on the Firefox title bar.
- "3-bar" menu button -> Exit (Power button)
- Windows: File -> Exit
- Mac: Firefox -> Quit Firefox
- Linux: File -> Quit
Are you using "Clear history when Firefox closes" to clear history?
- Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security -> Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history": [X] "Clear history when Firefox closes" -> Settings

I don't understand how these are shutdown crashes when my browser isn't shutting down because of them.

I want for updates to be cecked for, I just want to be able to install them, myself, so I'll check that option. What I'll uncheck is for using the background service to install the update.
