How can I prevent firefox from displaying my personal email headers in the browser history (without private browsing)??

If I've viewed email, the hisory should only display the email address. Currently, if I open an appt from my physician, the history could read "Appointment reminder from Dr. Mozilla's office for your colo-rectal exam on March 9th." That's unacceptable. And don't tell me I need to use private browsing every time I go to open an email. Is there a way to prevent this from happening?

Seriously no replies? Thanks Mozilla, for your "support".

I looked thru my Live.com history, and all I see is the web code for the message. No header or part of the message.

Hello,

In order to better assist you with your issue please provide us with a screenshot. If you need help to create a screenshot, please see How do I create a screenshot of my problem?

Thanks for the reply. It seriously blows my mind that people are completely oblivious to this problem. Especially the mozilla team. I sent several emails to my gmail account. Here's a screenshot of the history after they were viewed/opened:

I sent an attachment but I'm not sure if it worked (just kept spinning) so there's a link to the pic posted as well.

I see what you mean. I use HotMail and don't get that. Contact Google e-mail support. It looks like a site problem.

Can't say that I find that objectionable myself.

I see that with both Gmail and Xfininity Mail - the "Subject" line of each individual email appears as the Page Title on the tab, on the Titlebar if the user has that selected to show in the Firefox browser window, and then that Page Title appears in History, which how 'history' works - displays the Page Title the page sends to Firefox. And that information would be printed in the header / footer when an email is printed. That same 'Subject' information appears on the email index page with all your received emails.

I don't know what can be done in Firefox about that. IMO Firefox is working as designed by displaying the Page Title as provided by the web mail software. And if anything is really at fault it is the author of the email for putting sensitive information in the 'Subject' line. Something like "Reminder about your March 9 appointment with Dr. Who ..." would be a more appropriate Subject line for a doctor's office to use. Then put the "probing" dialog in the body of the email
