when I use Windows Search to find words in Word files, they cannot be found when these files were dowloaded wth Firefox. When the files are downloaded using IE, this problem does not occur.

Windows Search automatically indexes files downloaded via Internet Explorer. To have it index file downloaded with Firefox, you will need to add your Downloads folder to the list of Indexed locations.

The problem still occurs after I have done this. I do not think the download folder is the problem, though, since Windows Search is able to find other files in that same folder. The only way to make the files that were downloaded with Firefox visible for Windows Search is to copy the entire contents of the Word file to a new Word file and save that file into the same folder.
