Hello there, I'm using/testing Thunderbird for Android since few month now. I'm very happy with it, i come from BlueMail which is already great but I was not happy with the efficiency of the push notification system. I was missing a lot of emails. Anyway, i decided to try Thunderbird and it solved all my problems.

But, I have a blocking problem using Thunderbird for Android : When I write a new email and I write the adress mail of the recipient(s), the app doesnt propose any autocompletion/email adress based on emails i recieved/sent. The only way to have this is to have contacts in my adress book which I don't want. This is a feature BlueMail had so I uess it should be possible to have such equivalent with thunderbird ? Does anyone knows ?

I noticed this morning that my Thunderbird tree no longer had a Junk folder. I restarted the program and Junk appeared, with stuff in it, but right-clicking the Junk folder no longer brings up the usual list of options, including Empty Junk. Instead, right-clicking seems to temporarily slow-down or 'hang' Thunderbird, a condition it does recover from in 10 seconds or so. I can open the Junk folder, select all messages and delete them, but something isn't right. Any ideas, anyone?

Update: Realized I didn't mention the version I was running, it was 133.0.3, under Windows 10, but when I opened Help to find this I was invited to do an update... so I did. When the 'update' was complete, I checked and am now running 128.6.0esr (64-bit). That seems strange. Oh, the same Junk problem persists under the 'new' version.

Update #2: Evidently the drop-down menu does eventually appear, if you just wait for it... anywhere from 5 seconds to 30 seconds or so. Normally the right-click is instantaneous. What could have happened, I wonder?

Hello, dear volunteer!

                                   I am experiencing a problem with Thunderbird (Version 128.8.1esr, 64-bit) in that I am unable to use it to send messages.  Regardless of the message length (whether long or short),  I consistently receive back the same error diagnostic, as shown in the image I have uploaded.
    Could you please help me with this issue?

I am automatically filtering messages using the message filter feature.

I cannot open emails that have been sorted into a specific folder. The email list is displayed in the tree on the left, but when I click on the relevant email, the message pane on the right remains completely blank. Although the email has been received, I cannot read its contents at all.

Even if I double-click the email in the list to open it in a new tab, the contents are still not visible.

Emails sorted into other folders display without any issues. I tried right-clicking the affected folder → Properties → Repair Folder, but the issue remains.

Is there a way to fix this?

Unable to open the summary file for [Gmail]/Sent Mail on myemail@gmail.com. Perhaps there was an error on disk, or the full path is too long.

I am plagued with this error message on various accounts. The folders have opened before and it exists on the Gmail website application.

The SSD is fine with plenty of available space. Over twice needed by the system.

The profile folder is 65GB. Can Thunderbird handle that much data storage?

Since the latest MacOS update to 15.3.2 I have had a consistent problem with Thunderbird. After the computer has been asleep for long periods (e.g., overnight), emails I want to send will not recognize the outgoing server. When I quit T-bird and restart the problem is gone. This is true for 5 email addresses on two servers - one of the servers is an @att.net address hosted on Yahoo. The problem doesn't happen after short periods of computer sleep. I'm on an M4 Macbook Pro.

I am upgrading a desktop PC and have the opportunity to customize its components specifically aiming at improving and increasing Thunderbird's performance.

In addition to any software tweaking, what resources or combination of resources would contribute the most to increasing Thunderbird's performance ? Can I use RAM to cache some or all storage activity ?

The current profile and mailbox (IMAP) are >60GB.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I am unable to send e-mails! I get the message "An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: <susann.mitchell@community-resource.org.uk> too many recipients in last hour.

Please check the message recipient "susann.mitchell@community-resource.org.uk" and try again."

This has only occurred in the last two days and I have not changed any settings. One day working - next not working!!! How do I get back to normal operation, please? Roy

For about 6 months now, my printers have been disappearing and reappearing at random...or so I thought. However, today, I left my Printer window opened while the printers were "Connected". I then proceeded to open the programs I regularly use: First Word. Nothing. Then Acrobat. Nothing. Then Chrome, still nothing. Then Thunderbird...Bam! Printers Disconnected. I said, let me try this again, and again, and again. Each time...same result. When launching Thunderbird...within 5 secs, the printers disconnect. It's the craziest thing I've ever seen. Anyone out there looking for a fun challenge? I've never seen this happen before and would love a resolution. Oh, and before it's suggested: I already checked the PrintSpooler service...connected or disconnected, it's status reads: "Running" in Task Manager.

I just installed Thunderbird and it opened with the Welcome to Thunderbird (donation request) page.

BUT I can't DO anything in the app like setup an email address or access settings because the hamburger menu button does nothing when I click it. I can't click anything that will let me actually do anything. It's essentially a brick out of the box.

Could my antivirus or firewall perhaps be interfering with it? Seems unlikely since the problem is within the app itself and not a connectivity issue but I can't think of anything else and there aren't support articles on this fundamental problem.

I'm running Windows 11 with all updates. I tried restarting the app but no change. Any idea what's going on and how to fix it? Thanks.
