Dear Firefox community,

How can I limit the volume of audio played by Firefox so that users who stupidly create super loud audio in thier video or stream do not hurt my ear drums?

This is a simple question but it seems like nobody knows the answer to it.

I did try to find a limiter extension but all I found was a compressor and it did nothing but bring the noise floor up and make the audio very noisy.

If firefox does not have an inate Limiter, is it possible to use a VST limiter somehow?

Please help my ears.

Musical regards

Ronnie

I am using Windows 10 on a desktop computer with all current updates, including all drivers using Driver Booster 9. It occasionally crashes - usually blue screen error video TDR failure, ndlddmkm.sys.

After one crash yesterday, no saved login information came up on Firefox - no user ID or password.

In C:\Users\Paul\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\z9j81sb8.default there were seven corrupt logins files, logins.json.corrupt and logins.json-1.corrupt to logins.json-6.corrupt, the last of these with a date modified showing the day of that crash, i.e. yesterday's date. Renaming this to the logins.json didn't restore any logins when Firefox restarted. I tried a couple of others too, and the logins.json from my laptop. None gave me my logins back.

There is no folder on my Desktop.

This has been VERY inconvenient. I have been relying on Firefox, and know only a some passwords. Thank goodness I always ignored Firefox's offer to generate a password for me.

On repeated occasions, I have been offered multiple usernames in logging onto a website, specifically some choices that are all numeric usernames in addition to the correct one. When I then attempt to edit my Firefox PW list, there is no such username listed. I'll grant that I'm not always disciplined when offered "Save this PW and username?" at time of logins, but even if an inadvertent save, they should be there when I access the list.

I very frequently open .bib files to get bibliographic information on scientific articles. The by far most convenient way to open these files, which are plain text files, is to just show them as text (either in the same tab, or a new tab). For example if you search for a publication on Google scholar, and click the quotation mark and then BiBTeX, you get the bibliographical information shown as text directly in the browser (see attached screenshot).

However, many other websites and journals instead give you a link to an actual .bib file, instead of just serving up the text. But since a .bib file is just a plain text file, it should be no problem for Firefox to display this text. However, when I go under settings and try to select default actions for .bib files, my only options are to either save the file, or open it with another application (i.e., not Firefox). For other file types, for example .pdf, it works to select Open in Firefox as the default action, but not for .bib files.

Is there a way to fix this problem?

I'm using Firefox 95.0.2 on Mac OS 12.1

Thanks, Tor

Anytime I open Firefox, there are 3 files displayed in my download history. They are called "Timeline 1.mov", "Timeline 1(1).mov" and "Timeline 1(2).mov", come from "protonmail.com" and never get downloaded fully, but are displayed as failed downloads only.

I don´t use protonmail per se, but I do have two mail servers set as my home pages. I was wondering if it is possible that they have something to to with that or if I should be worried that there´s more to it.

Any help appreciated, thanks!

Hi, Firefox is my preferred browser but I am having trouble logging into a site I use a lot. The site is Supercoach (https://supercoach.heraldsun.com.au) but when I try to log in it keeps telling me the user name or password is incorrect. I have tried clearing the cache with no success. I have no problem logging in with Chrome and Brave. Please advise, Ian.

I have had a government website to log into for informatin from them. It was always auto-filled. I have asked for support from them and they gave me another number to call and I did everything they asked, but then I got a little note saying that that site is not longer available and that it was cleared when I cleared the cache. I have tried creating a new account and even that doesn't work. Is there any way to get that website back?

I know this has been raised before, but since the last update, Firefox tries to reload the tabs that were open when it last closed. That's annoying enough, but it doesn't do it every time ... very frustrating! I've read a heap of previous posts and tried most of the suggestions ... nothing works. Some of these go back years, but it's a new problem for me that coincides with the most recent upgrade. If it's a bug ... Mozilla needs to fix it! If it's something I'm doing differently, some assistance (from anyone) would be appreciated. Thanks!
