So i restarted macbook and when i opened Firefox, my bookmarks were all gone. i read the text about how to restore them but it didnt work and i really need those bookmarks. also i cant add bookmarks, its just not working. hopefully you'll help me with my question, thabk you.

A user I am servicing uses Firefox every day. They are on Windows 11. Every afternoon (sometimes at other times), Firefox stops working and loses its internet connection (everything else on their computer continues to be connected).  When they close and restart Firefox to reconnect, it then tells me the user that they are using an old profile and need to create a new one.  They're able to re-log into their Firefox account, which eventually resyncs all their data, but they then have to re-sign into everything, which is a major inconvenience.  The only workaround the I have found is to reinstall Firefox, ever time this happens which then allows the user to use all their settings until they have to repeat the process the next day (i.e., everything remains signed in and/or logging back in is easier than described above).

Latest version of Firefox on macOS, Mac Mini M2 - 8 GB RAM and MacBook Air M3 - 16 GB RAM: Firefox malfunctions on launch - I have to force quit and relaunch it - Firefox starts to load then freezes. Firefox works, then I launch other applications like Chrome, Thunderbird, etc. Firefox freezes on the M2 8GB RAM but rarely on the M3 16GB. A few weeks ago, these problems didn't exist on either of my Macs - since an automatic update that I didn't notice, it's now a consistent occurrence.

• OS: Debian (trixie)
• Firefox version: 149.0b3

Firefox suddenly crashes without any displayed error. Attempt to troubleshoot it in "safe mode" doesn't help (it also suddenly crashes.

• When I had redirected following output: "Exiting due to channel error."
• after restart, I launched "about:crashes", but there were no entries

I have Firefox installed on multiple devices and most/all of them don't keep sessions or browsing history

I noticed that these files are updated while browser is open and get deleted once browser is closed:

• sessionstore-backups/recovery.baklz4
• sessionstore-backups/recovery.jsonlz4

No other files are related to sessions

I have "Open previous windows and tabs" checked

Installations:

• Windows 10
• Debian 12
• Debian 13 (Firefox 148.0 Snap)

On Firefox for Android, this issue doesn't happen, I can even see the whole browsing history including history lost on PC installations

In February this year I started having an issue with reading pdf formatted statements from my bank' (bank and personal information removed). Initially I thought it was some change at the bank so I sent the letter below to my bank.

Further experimenting with Microsoft Edge and Firefox leads me to believe the issue may be with recent changes to firefox. The attached jpg file shows the problem, though not a solution.

I would be curious to know if there is some (new) setting in Firefox to correct the problem.

You have evidently made some changes in your account display and I have to tell you there are issues with it.

Previously the account document came up as PDF. Today I accessed the current statement and immediately noticed the change in display format.

I usually do two things here. First I print the document. The print button worked as expected. Next I SAVE a copy for future reference. The download button DID NOT WORK.

I had to use the print save to file function. This is where I found the problem. I saw this when I checked my print queue as well. Instead of PDF the document is now PDF.js viewer.

I have to ask why you went to java script when the original PDF format worked properly every time?

On the plus side, my pdf viewer still reads the saved file. It is the unnecessary print to file step to which I object.

I am not at all happy with this change and would encourage you to return to the previous process. Since it was NOT BROKE I am at a lost to understand WHY YOU FIXED IT.

I noted, that credit cards autofill works, but on ~50% of websites it fails. I can see the autofill dropdown, but if I select any card, no fields are filled. Manual filling works. One of examples: https://ipn.paymentus.com, but there are many. Again, on some websites it works just fine.

Another issue - I cannot edit cards. Settings->Payment methods->Manage, then select a card, press "Edit" and nothing happens.

Context: version 148.0 (64-bit), Canonical snap build (crap, I cannot DISABLE snap build and totally switch to deb!!!)

P.S. I really miss feature to add "aliases" for cards...

Thank you for the help! I'm wondering if other AI chatbots, Lumo, in particular, will continue to be added as options to the updated sidebar? An unofficial extension exists (https://codeberg.org/daskashk/lumo_ai_by_proton_chat_in_sidebar) that adds the ability for a link to appear in the sidebar. However, it does not offer the full integration that the official browser update provides to the other supported LLMs. I like Lumo for its privacy, encryption, and the ability to make "Projects." Thanks again for the help.

UNBELIEVABLE, I've never had this much trouble with a previous update. Your AUTOMATIC update closed all web pages that were open last session, offers no option to restore previous session, and took me 2 hours just to get bookmarks back. I had way too many pages open, but I have lost some important research for work that was in process. Multiple support options didn't work until I found one that would for bookmarks, but the history seems to be unretrievable. Not how i wanted to spend my morning.

I wanted to change my Paypal password. I went to their page, and generated a password, but didn't save it. So I went through the password reset process, and asked Firefox to generate another secure password. Paypal rejected it, because it was the one I used before. Every time I asked Firefox for another password, I got exactly the same one.

Is that intentional? How do I change it, so I get a different password when I ask for a new one?

I was really shocked and horrified to see Firefox place the Qatari regime's propaganda mouthpiece on my home screen. The Qatari regime is one of the worlds worst abusers of human rights. It allows no political parties, tolerates no criticism, and severely punishes online dissent. It has absolutely no LGBQ rights, is deeply misogynistic and antisemitic and uses slave labor extensively. Additionally, it is a known supporter of extremism and terrorism. It is not OK to push their propaganda outlet on the front page.

my bookmark bar disappered suddenly and all my tabs are gone. i tried to bookmark a new tab but it would not let me. and i didnt do anything different. opened my laptop today and i had to restore all tabs, and my bookmark bar is gone and all my shortcuts from bookmarks are gone too
