While I was troubleshooting other issues, I "refreshed" firefox (big mistake, I should have just uninstalled and reinstalled), and now all of my search suggestions are gone.

What I mean by this is, for example, if I just typed "w" into the search bar, it would immediately autofill to wikipedia, as well as show other recommendations for other sites I frequently visit that start with W, or bookmarked sites I have that start with W.

With the autofill, I could just type w + enter to immediately go to wikipedia. I assume this is because I visited the site extremely often. However, after the refresh, it only shows me previous searches I've done. This is really annoying because I've gotten used to the autofill shortcuts.

Is there some way to un-refresh my firefox? or do I need to like, just use sites again and again until it relearns recommendations?

In fact, how do the recommendations actually work? My bookmarks are still here and it doesn't recommend me them anymore, which is odd.

Note both before and now, I have all "Search Shortcuts" turned off

I know that typically mozilla does not put a low bound on advisories, and https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/security/advisories/mfsa2024-40/ is the advisory for vulnerabilities fixed in ESR 128.2. CVE-2024-8387 is listed here. yet the advisory for 115, https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/security/advisories/mfsa2024-41/ does not list this vulnerability. Was this something that was only impacting 128 (for the ESR builds) or is there a mistake that either 115.15 did patch it but it wasn't documented, or the patch has been missed and ESR 115 is still vulnerable?

I am an avid or rabid Firefox user for more than 20 years. It was Firebird when I began using it. Now, sadly it is no longer my default browser. Recently, when I click an email link it opens a new Firefox web page instead of a tab in the always running Firefox web browser. This new page has different extension(s) behaviors and is unusable to me! Opera is now my default. I have tried "Refresh, Troubleshoot Mode and Uninstall/Reinstall. None of these worked. Any suggestions? Woody Ogden https://www.linkedin.com/in/woodyogden/ https://bvcomputerclub.org/officers2024.php

Phoenix Firefox was originally named Phoenix but the name was changed to avoid trademark conflicts with Phoenix Technologies. The initially-announced replacement, Firebird, provoked objections from the Firebird project community. The current name, Firefox, was chosen on February 9, 2004.

Firefox, free open-source Web browser created by the American software company Mozilla Corporation.

In 1998 the American Internet services company Netscape Communications Corp. decided to designate its Navigator browser as open-source for users, who began the development of Mozilla Firefox. The Mozilla team, led by the American developers Dave Hyatt and Blake Ross, sought to create a light fast-loading browser that would appeal to users in its efficiency. In 2002 they released their first browser, Phoenix, which soon included features such as bookmarking (for saving website addresses) and the ability to add extensions to modify or customize the browser.

Firefox functions like an app of Edge--how on earth can I have Firefox back as it was in my Win 7 machine (before being forced to Win 11 after a monster lightning strike)?

How to switch accounts (change user) do not want to use the email address to log in to Firefox but my screen name--when I click the Firefox Icon automatically logs with my email address and shows my first and last name. How to bypass the auto and have a manual login for user name and password. At 81, I may not have enough years or brain power left to master this not-intuitive Windows 11, which appears to me, to be a bastard mix of Smartphone and Desktop put out by a company that wants total control or at a minimum to grant as little control as possible to the user of the operating system--we will teach you how to think our way or get a pencil and piece of paper.

Ah, "The Golden Years" is a misnomer, the color was golden as is all polished brass, however the Golden color has tarnished.

Using Firefox Developer Edition 132.0b9 (64-bit). Also verified same issue in regular FF. Tested in Chrome to be sure it's Firefox related. No issues in Chrome.

It's very random, but sometimes images will render with a slight green tint to them. When I save the image it doesn't have the tint but I've also included a screenshot to show how the render looks.

Things I've tried:

  • Disabling hardware acceleration
  • Changing every setting related to gfx.color in about.config and restarting browser (multiple times/tests)
  • Using devtools to see if it's a server side issue with the particular website

At this point I'm moving on because I cannot find a fix so this was my last resort.

I discovered this issue while trying to chat on Twitch. On my m1 macos, I try to insert emoji into the twitch chat via <control+command+space> shortcut and opening up the emoji picker. When I click on a emote to insert, nothing is inserted. Then, when I try to do the same into the developer's console via <command+option+i> , again nothing is inserted. This does not appear to be the case on Chrome.

Steps to reproduce: 1) be on macOS 2) open emoji picker via <control+command+space> 3) try to insert emoji into twitch chat OR developer's console

nothing is inserted

As of last week, FF works for a few minutes on startup, but then when you open a new tab and try to go to a site you just get the dancing period, nothing opens. Already open tabs with sites generally still work, but sometimes crash the tabs after a bit. We've tried starting without extensions, uninstalling and reinstalling FF, changing the profile, logging in the PC (Win 10, up to date) with a different login, running SFC and DISM on the PC, and just about everything else.

Opening the FF console shows this message when the tab just rocks the period:

WindowsJumpLists: Failed to fetch favicon for https://online.adp.com/signin/v1/?APPID=WFNPortal&productId=80e309c3-7085-bae1-e053-3505430b5495&returnURL=https://workforcenow.adp.com/&callingAppId=WFN&TARGET=-SM-https://workforcenow.adp.com/theme/admin.html NS_ERROR_FAILURE: WindowsJumpLists.sys.mjs:257:29

Edge works perfectly (and unfortunately, I'm having to use Edge to enter this ticket.). Other applications don't have any issues. I'm not having this issue on 2 other similar PCs I have that run FF, only this one.

Any ideas of what might be the issue with FF on this PC? Thanks, Alex

Hi

I've gotten a couple of reports from Firefox users. Users report odd text formatting when typing 1st and 2nd on the body of an email when using Outlook web browser. See attached image.

I tested this on my production machine, and I'm also seeing the odd text formatting.

I've cleared my cache, uninstall/reinstall a fresh Firefox version, I've used a Private browser window, and I am still running into this issue.

I'm using a M1 MacBook Air. Currently on macOS Sonoma 14.6.1 - Firefox version 131.0.3. I have a user who has a M3 MacBook Air on Sonoma 14.5 - Firefox version 126.0.1
