I'm on an older iMac using OS 10.10.5 Yosemite. I can't upgrade due to work.

Currently I'm running Firefox 78.3.1esr (64bit) and I'm having trouble seeing some websites correctly (see attached screenshot for ebay for example). Sites also take a longer time than usual to render.

Is there anything I can do to make Firefox work well again?

Thanks!

This is not a question. It is a complaint. I can't see anywhere else to lodge it.

I am on a mac mini. I keep getting "Secure connection failed and Firefox did not connect" on secure government sites and others that I know are just fine. I'm sick of it. This did not happen till recently and I have not changed my settings or preferences for over a year.

When I get this message these days, guess what I do - I switch browsers. I would like to keep using Firefox. I like it. However, I get this message on too many sites to put up with it any longer. If it isn't adjusted in the next update, I will strongly consider switching browsers permanently.

Even Safari allows me to continue to the site - certificate or no certificate. Blocking me from the site is ridiculous. Fix it.

Please Help! Why am I all of a sudden getting this error message? I have been using Firefox for years and Gmail.

Do you really want to use HTML Gmail?

You're about to use a version of Gmail designed for slower connections and legacy browsers. To get all of Gmail's features, including inbox categories, images and quick actions, please use the latest version of Gmail (recommended).

This past week I started getting the Did Not Connect: Potential Security Issue warning when I tried to access my email at Comcast.net. I also got the warning on my banks website when I tried to transfer funds, something I had done many times before. This seems to have started after "upgrading" to version 78.7.1 of FireFox. However, I got the same sort of error using Safari: "Safari can't verify the identity of the website xfinityconnect.email.comcast.net" The certificate shows it is issued by "AVG untrusted CA" from the country "CZ" and State/Province "Brno". Comcast told me to just trust their certificate and I was able to get to my email account, but I am getting the same warning from PNC Bank's website when I try to transfer funds. This REALLY has me worried. Can someone tell me if this is a sign I've been hacked? How can I fix this so I can again transfer funds from my checking account to other banks?

I have disabled autoplay in my preferences for all websites, but some videos on some websites still autoplay. (This is under Preferences / Privacy and Security / Autoplay. I do banking online with Key Bank and now they are saying: Due to security concerns, Firefox is no longer an option for KeyBank online banking. Nothing is wrong with your account. You simply need a different browser—like Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, or Mozilla Firefox—to sign on to online banking.

What is the difference between Firefox and Mozilla Firefox? What do I need to do?

I am unable to clear cache. 2.0MB of cache always remain after I go through the appropriate steps to clear cache. I have tried everything recommended by Mozilla and online. A few times the 2.0MB cleared on its own but then immediately reappeared. This problem started happening around six weeks ago. I checked the cache folder and nothing appears there but when Firefox is open it always shows 2.0MB of cache and it won't clear.

FireFox just updated onto my older Mac computer running OS 10.10.5 to version 78.7.1esr. I now cannot login to at least one of my banking and medicare accounts, but can log into other accounts I have. For the banking account I get this message: "Please try using another internet browser. If you still receive this message, please call the Customer Care Center at 1-800-XXX-XXXX and reference code: 18.67472317.1612970980". For Medicare I get: 'Access Denied You don't have permission to access "http://account.mymedicare.gov/?" on this server. Reference #18.47f86668.1612971914.68502162'. Using Safari I can login to these accounts just fine. Turning off all extensions does not remedy the problem.

I have a another Mac, running OS 10.12.6 and Firefox 82.0.3 and I don't have problems logging into these accounts.

Hi there

New Mac Book Pro M1 running Big Sur 11.1

Firefox is being a nightmare. Forgets everything. Logs out of everything. Logs out of Firefox itself everytime I quit. So everytime i open firefox I have to sign in to Google (my homepage), BUT... because it has also logged me out of Firefox itself, I have to enter a very long password each time. Sooooo boring.

What is going on? Is this really apple not wanting people to use anything other than safari?

Any help gratefully received

Is there any way to temporarily disable Firefox (and Thunderbird) update reminders? Mozilla seems to be updating its software so often that I'm getting too many reminders and it's interfering with my work flow. I understand the need to keep software up to date as often as possible but this has now got ridiculous, and I am on the verge of changing my default browser from Firefox to Safari, Chrome or Vivaldi. Please stop forcing every little tiny update onto your users!

Or is there some sneaky little way I haven't noticed under Preferences which already does enable me to do this?

DNS over HTTPS results in Little Snitch prompting for permissions for unknown numeric IPs — how can a user make judgments about whether to connect?

I use Little Snitch as a firewall. It prompts for a yes/no on each connection that is about to be made. The only way I know of to make an informed decision in each case is to see the servers requesting a connection, of which there are many for each page request. When using DoH, these become numeric IP addresses, about which I know nothing, other than looking them up with Terminal nslookup, the first several of which turned out to be:

23.193.33.57 a23-193-33-57.deploy.static.akamaitechnologies.com. 172.217.7.4 lga25s56-in-f4.1e100.net. 4.7.217.172.in-addr.arpa namelga25s56-in-f4.1e100.net. 52.216.205.35 s3-1-w.amazonaws.com. 13.225.222.73 server-13-225-222-73.jfk51.r.cloudfront.net. 142.250.64.99 lga34s31-in-f3.1e100.net.

None of these was directly related to what I was trying to do, though cloudfront and akamai are frequent flyers. So I don't know if these were encrypted-DNS servers (though only cloudfront is supposed to be a default) or participant in the page I was attempting to reach.

This is clearly not a practical way to use a browser. It would appear that I will have to have DoH turned off in order to use the firewall. Is anyone else having this issue? Is there any other solution other than turning DoH off?

Thanks for any help.

My desktop Mac suddenly (July 28) quit displaying page specified fonts, in some - not all - instances, using Inspector reveals affected sites defaulting to Helvetica Last Resort, or failing to display Open Sans via gstatic.com. For comparison, my laptop - same FF v.78.12.0esr, using the same (advanced - default) fonts and colors settings - displays everything properly, as do those same sites on mobile. This is a local problem.

Those sites affected work fine using Chrome, Safari, which indicates system level fonts are loading properly.

Of the sites affected, one thing in common seems to be that they are WordPress/PHP dynamic sites.

I use FontExplorerX font management, which has been stable for years. There aren't any reported conflicts.

Application and system font caches have been flushed.

Firefox has been freshened.

I feel like this may be a corrupted prefs file somewhere, but have no idea how to proceed.

Attached images show different page display results using same search term in Google, DuckDuckGo, and two sites that are affected.
