woke up yesterday and suddenly my browser is largely non-functional.

When opening a file browsing window to upload or attach a file, where firefox would normally open my OS's file browser (Dolphin) it now opens a hideous firefox tab with extremely limited functionality (no file sort/ search/ open, or access to most of my system), and the Download toolbar is now completely broken. Clicking a file opens a little dialogue box that asks "Open with System Handler?" and does nothing upon clicking OK. Nothing also happens on clicking the folder icon to the right, which would normally open a Dolphin window with the file in question selected.

Logged onto my laptop this morning, just like every other morning. Firefox opened as if I had never used the browser before. Asked that I sent up a new profile. Could not access my existing profile. I can't find files anywhere on my computer with the information. If I open any of the old Firefox folders, I get a new set-up. Is there anyway to recover my bookmarks and passwords? Not feeling like this is a very secure product right now.

I keep having to download and reinstall the web version of Firefox, even when my session times out. Is there an easier way to handle this so I don’t have to keep reinstalling it each time?

Lately when I go to facebook, I am confronted with captchas to prove I am not a robot. However I keep doing them and keep getting another one. The last time I gave up at about 20.

Meanwhile when I go to f/b on microsoft edge I get in immediately.

J'ai 2 PC sur lesquels j'ai windows 11 ,sur l'un je n'est aucun soucis de faire un copier coller d'un lien du navigateur sur le bureau ,mais sur le 2 ieme PC impossible ,il n'y a que edge qui le permet ,pourquoi ? Планируется ли создание такой персонализации как на ПК? Если вы не планируете заниматься этим обновлением то пожалуйста напишите, чтобы я его не ждал. Благодарю за понимание!

something like this happened July 16, 2025 and I had to change my password It happened again August 23, 2025 And again Sept. 9, 2025 and I had to change my password Now it's happening again (after I updated the app) and as FF doesn't recognize my old password(s) I can't do things like see an invitation from an old friend because I can't sign in because it doesn't recognize my FF password. I'm on a 2021 iMac 24 inc, M1, 8GB, running Sequoia15.6.1 I'm afraid to update my OS because what if I get blocked out of my email. Apple just suggested I switch email apps. But I've been running Firefox and Yahoo (and several other accounts) for more than 25 years on a dozen or more devices and I don't want to lose that history (this happened to a friend who lost his entire gmail history. Yikes.;)

For the last 2-3 day I have been experiencing a box that asks for my signature each time I go to a new website. I can't move the box. I can't screenshot it. Does anyone know how I can get rid of it?

I play the on-line KY lottery on a regular basis on my computer. As of late I am getting a message that states we cannot validate your location when I attempt to play games...ie. powerball, pick 3 and pick 4 etc. I had no problems until the last few weeks. I can play on my phone but I don't like to play on my phone.

I tried to add the KY lottery to the location permission area under the Privacy and Security settings. It will not accept it. I know at one time several website that I use used to be in the location permissions and now they're gone and I can still use the sites.

Confused and not sure what to do.

I did not really know what happened but every time I opened home page, it did not load. It was working before but suddenly it didn't. I have tried writing "about:home" into search bar and it returned nothing. Just a blank page and an empty search bar.

I've checked the settings and it should be fine. Nothing wrong with it. I've checked the flatpak version and its ok. I was able to open my home tab.

I am using Firefox 148.0.2 (64-bit) Debian .deb.

Fire fox wont allow Prowriting aid to run. Its a desktop app and should be able to run. I have tried updating both programs. Changed settings and done everything I can think of but it still wont work. I dont wish to change Browsers but may be forced to if this problem cant be fixed

Places where I've observed this behaviour:

• The 4th video in the description of https://store.steampowered.com/app/1363080/Manor_Lords/ (ignore the media carousel at the top of the page)
• This video https://dolphin-emu.org/m/user/blog/progress-report/2603/rebelstrike-texturestreaming-av1.webm that's loaded in an embed at https://dolphin-emu.org/blog/2026/03/12/dolphin-progress-report-release-2603/

When these videos are in view and playing, they're decoded using the CPU and the browsers frame rate tanks (heavy/laggy scrolling when scrolling with mouse scroll wheel), I have a Geforce 3070 which includes support for AV1 decoding so I'm not sure what's happening.

AV1 videos found on Youtube like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=foqVJq-XPTg are fully hardware accelerated by the GPU (Stats for nerds confirms it's playing an AV1 copy) and doesn't exhibit any performance issue.

GPU usage is monitored by Task Manager in Windows 10. For the problematic videos the GPU Decoding is at 0% with a workload being spread across many of the CPU cores. For the non-problematic 4K video the GPU Decoding is around 60-70% and no workload is distributed across multiple CPU cores.
