How do I increase the size of the icons on the Bookmarks Toolbar in Waterfox 16

more options

One would assume this would be an option when customizing the toolbars. When I was doing FF betas, i reported this and later suggested it.

(the previous similar question was closed in 2011 and the answer doesnt apply)

Chosen solution

I did not find the .css file within Waterfox files and I don't know which file replaced it. However, after some serious trial and error and digging around I found that the Roomy Bookmarks addon can do the job.

@theoldfox I'm sorry that I posted here for help on a product that was originally part of the FF distro. You really know how to make people feel unwelcomed.

This forum is for Firefox support, not for Waterfox support. Post in the Waterfox support forum - http://www.overclock.net/t/975626/waterfox-16-0-1-28-october-firefox-64-bit Or send an message to Waterfox - http://www.waterfoxproject.org/support.php

obviously some people are resentful but thanks for the point in the friendly direction so they(overclock.net) can turn around and come back and ask mozilla how to fix it so they can turn around and email me the fix ...

I dont like merry go rounds, waterfox is firefox for all intents and purposes.

Sorry that you weren't able to get an answer to your Waterfox problem:

  1. Waterfox is not produced by Mozilla, therefore is not supported by Mozilla.
  2. The third-party who built Waterfox based on a Firefox release is responsible for supporting their release.
  3. If they do not know enough about their product to support it, perhaps users should make a decision about using the third-party product based on the third-party's lack of knowledge and support for their product.

I assume that the same CSS code in userChrome.css that works in Firefox should also work with Waterfox.

Add code to the userChrome.css file below the default @namespace line.

@namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* only needed once */

#personal-bookmarks .bookmark-item > .toolbarbutton-icon { height:24px!important; width:24px!important;}

Without going in a dissertation about what I said, if you feel the need to report me, feel free. bullten 1, ok got it. Bulletin 6, you are stretching it. Bulletin 7, well, ya got me there, I should have been "friendly when others are not". Again, I APOLOGIZE for my language, we all have bad days and take it out on others, guess it was my day to get victimized. Sigh.

Moderator note: I understand your frustration but you can not use language like that even though it's popular and used frequently on sites like Youtube. I understand it's not really seen as much of an insult among kids today. But TheOldFox didn't appreciate being called that. Anyway, everything's cool. I don't intend to make this a big deal, just relax when posting in your future posts and don't insult people. :)

Hey Skibo, I feel your pain. Some people don't realize that some Waterfox issues can be fixed thru other methods that can work in both Waterfox & Firefox. They think that all Waterfox issues specifically only affect Waterfox. But that's not always true.

Anyway, TheOldFox's 1st message was a bit strict and dismissive. Sorry about that. Some people don't realize how they can soften the tone of their message by adding a few extra words. But there have been bugs in the past that were the fault of Waterfox and needed to be fixed by Waterfox developers so I can see why he was quick to point you there.

Userchrome info:
The userChrome.css file you're looking for has to be created manually. You also have to create a folder called chrome and put userChrome.css in it. This folder and file used to be automatically created by Firefox so people could easily find it. But then the Fx developers removed this and now force users to manually create both the folder and file which causes confusion for people looking for the file. :( Anyway, glad Roomy Bookmarks can do the job.

Third moderator weighing in here:

You have received an apology from Noah_SUMO. Do you want us to help you with your support issue, or do you want to continue this "verbal battle" over the rules of this forum?
If you want support, please restrict your comments to your support issue, and forget about extraneous. Otherwise this thread might get locked, to give you the opportunity to start out asking about this issue again after you have calmed down a bit.

As far as userChrome.css goes - that file doesn't exist until the user creates it. Plus the user has to create the chrome folder, too.
