instead of seeing a web site, I always see an error page (even when offline)

For several days, I see an error page when trying to see a certain web site. I suspected something was wrong when I got the same error page when offline. I checked another browser and the website is just like always, no error. I would prefer to use firefox.

Chosen solution

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Edit > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

I had already removed the cookies for this site. Clearing the cache did the job. Thanks.
