As of today every time I open a FF window it has a sidebar for history. I do not store history and need to stop this. I do not want to close it i want to disable this annoying new function or I need to delete FF and choose a different browser.

If you close all windows and make sure that the last window doesn't have the sidebar open, then the sidebar should stay closed when you close and restart Firefox.

You can rename/remove xulstore.json in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed.

You can use the button on the "Help -> More Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page (Root directory).
