The new version 89.0.1 forces Google to search in the address bar. I dont like it. I cant read it. The results are not what I'm looking for. I want to retain old Home and ditto new Tabs with Google and Often-used 'favorites'. I cant disable it for Home or new tabs and I wish to keep my old home screen as it was and tuned to my taste.

Why the change without options to keep?

thanx

Chosen solution

You can turn it off by going to about:config and switching browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.improvesearch.handoffToAwesomebar to false.
