Printing Problem: Reader View Renumbers List

more options

I'm finding the new Reader View often helpful in printing web pages.

However, I've found one problem: I printed a web page with a numbered list (1,2,3), with many of the numbered paragraphs having sub-paragraphs that were lettered (a,b,c). But Reader View converted the letters for all the sub-paragraphs into numbers. And, although the sub-paragraphs were at least indented on the screen, they all printed at the margin with the numbered items.

So I end up with something that's hard to follow because the printed text is numbered: 1 1 (for a) 2 (for b) 3 (for c) 2 1 (for a) ... and so on

Here's a link to the page that produced the hard-to-follow printed text. Look at it with Reader View, and then print it (it's only a few sheets), and the problem is obvious: https://support.killernetworking.com/knowledge-base/clean-install-killer-control-center/

Yes, an inline style is stripped in Reader view (on screen, even before you print). The part I've bolded is lost:

<li>If you are using Windows 10 and don’t already know which build,
    find out which version of Windows that your machine is currently running.
    If you are unsure, follow these steps to find out:
  <ol style="list-style-type: lower-alpha;">
    <li>Click <strong>Start</strong><strong><br>
    </strong></li>
    <li>Type <strong>winver</strong> and press Enter</li>
    <li>A box will appear with some information about Windows.
        There will be a ‘Version” number. Match this version number to the correct
        download below.</li>
  </ol>
</li>

I'm not sure why it does that. You could file a bug about it: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/
