How do I get rid of this persistent annoying popup created by the latest version 81? The only way currently is to click on it. I want it gone permanently. It is an unwanted feature. It is not needed.

You can set media.hardwaremediakeys.enabled = false on the about:config page.

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I accept the risk!" to continue.
