On a substantial portion of the pages I try to load I get the "The connection has timed out" page. Sometimes as many as 30% or more of the pages I try to load. I can't say this happens all the time, but I've noticed in a lot of cases there is no activity in that bottom status line about a site being contacted or some google ad page is loading or whatever Just nothing at all

I suspect my ISP (verizon DSL) has been restricting my bandwidth -- the situation wasn't this bad a few years ago When I called to ask about it, the call center agent said that I had signed up for a slow connection -- the only thing I signed up for was DSL -- and there was nothing she could do about it

I check www.dailylocal.com for old hometown news, but it's been timing out every time for a couple weeks I'm pretty sure that they're not a first-class operation, but I'm also wondering if Verizon could be keeping a blacklist of sites since some of these sites keep timing out while others sail through

I'm not at all asseting Fireforx is an issue The sites won't load with Edge either But I trust Firefox folks more than most others Any info you can provide, I'd appreciate I'd love to know how I can monitor real time the bandwidth Verizon is providing me

Thanks

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

There is security software like Avast, Kaspersky, BitDefender and ESET that intercept secure connection certificates and send their own.
