Extension "Blacken" Generates "Slow down" Warning

The wonderful extension "Blacken" is suddenly hanging up Firefox with a yellow warning that a script is causing a slow-down. Actually, it pretty thoroughly hangs up the tab. A screen shot of the warning is attached.

This used to work very well, but sometime within the past couple of months it started to hang up Firefox. I've tried clearing the cache and increasing dom.max_script_run_time from 10 to 20, but to no avail.

Any idea what's up and how I can fix it?

Addons problem isn't something FF end user help forum can help with. For problems with addons you need to contact the addon content creator for help on that.
