how can i look at my emails on my MacBook Air? i have Thunderbird on my old (2002) desktop. I don't know how to access my emails on my MacAir though. plz help

How about using the Mac version of Thunderbird? More details in the Installing Thunderbird on Mac support documentation.
Just make sure that both systems are connected to your email provider via IMAP, not POP3, so that the emails will not be deleted from your email service provider when you check them on a system.
