Links to Pinterest in emails don't work in Firefox

more options

When I hover over pics in emails from Pinterest a very long link shows that starts with https://post.pinterest.com/, but when I click on a pic it doesn't go to Pinterest. Instead, a new tab opens at a blank Google search page. The address in the address bar of the new tab shows something like https://www.google.com.au/?gfe_rd=cr&dcr=0&ei=bHpGWvO4O_Pc8wfU-Y3IDw. Its almost like the Pinterest link is being hijacked by Google. I've tried clearing the cache and cookies, refreshing Firefox and disabling extensions and plugins. If I use IE or Chrome, the links work fine.

There are a few problems (but not exactly the same as mine) already posted in Mozilla support about Pinterest links not working in Firefox, so Firefox is looking like being generally Pinterest-unfriendly.

In case it matters I don't use an email client like Outlook. I go to my webmail inboxes.

Chosen solution

uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files(x86) Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. (Note: This should be Pinned and run Weekly, If never done below expect 10's of gig's) Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do :

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 57.0.3 with a Full Version Installer

Hi Pkshadow. Not sure what you mean by Reinstalling with a "full version installer" but I did download firefox from https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ as you suggested. During the install, when I got to "choose setup type" I clicked "standard" as I'm not an experienced user. Other than that I Carefully followed your instructions but it didn't solve the issue.

As mentioned before, the links work if I access my emails with IE or Chrome so I think I'll leave it at that as I currently have health issues and don't have much energy. Thanks for trying to help me
