I used Firefox this morning to look at Facebook/Twitter and some other general browsing. When I came to open it for a second time there was a problem. It saved information in a folder called "Old Firefox Data" on my Mac desktop, and will only open with a blank start page .. which I guess is Safe Mode. I have tried to refresh Firefox. It says it has successfully imported bookmarks etc, but will only relaunch in safe mode. There is no crash report filed for today, and I did nothing to actively cause the crash, like installing software or add-ons. I am at a loss, can any only help? Ian Barmer

Hi, for some reason it has done a Refresh: Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings, which is why you have the Old Firefox Data file on your Desktop.

It probably isn't in Safe Mode, and could be working normally, but you need to reset the start page, so please see under 'Restore the default home page' in How to set the home page and click on 'Restore to Default.'

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you!
