I'm using Google Chrome to write this cuz my Firefox has become nearly unusable! I pull up a page and some of the text is there, but buttons aren't visible, or they're blank (I don't know what they're for). I'm having issues with Thunderbird too. I'm thinking you did updates for both and nothing works!! In Thunderbird I have no text color. I used colored text A LOT, and it's all gone. I can't do my email in Firefox cuz it has no color also. Again, I have to use Google Chrome. I hate doing my email in GC, and really miss my Thunderbird and I'm incredibly frustrated. I would really like to be able to call someone! When I have called, I've not trusted that I'm actually talking to someone w/ Mozilla, they're foreign and I sense are more a scammer. I would REALLY LIKE SOME ANSWERS! My computer has been in the shop and they can find nothing wrong, so Mozilla is the problem.

I understand that there is no text color in Firefox and that some buttons are missing. If you were using a theme or a toolbar before the update I would first recommend starting Firefox in Safe Mode:

Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:

  • Click the menu button New Fx Menu, click Help Help-29 and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.

If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:

  • On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
  • On Mac: Hold the option key while starting Firefox.
  • On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox -safe-mode
(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme, or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps in the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.

To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.

When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help others with the same problem.

Does any text show if you try to select the area with the mouse?

You can also try to check the colors and font-family in the Inspector in case there is a problem with the font.

You can right-click and select "Inspect Element" to open the Inspector (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer) with this element selected.

You can check the font used for selected text in the Font tab in the right pane of the Inspector.
