A month or so ago Facebook videos stopped playing. Any youtube video plays fine in facebook. I have -updated FF, Flash, Java -Add-ons disabled / Safe Mode for PC as well -just reset my firefox settings -turn off hardware accel for either flash or java I forget -PC is up to date -cleared cache / cookies I dont remember what else I have done.

Additionally, I just installed Firefox on my sisters brand new Win8 PC. I added on add-ons or anything and facebook would not play videos in there either. Kind of getting stumped. I guess I could downgrade my nvidia drivers but I dont see that helping....

Any words of wisdom? I have just been using Chrome if there was a video I wanted to see.

Your Internet Connection may be slow. Test your internet connection please. Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache. Note: This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to. To clear cache and cookies do the following:

  1. Click the menu button New Fx Menu, choose History, and then Clear Recent History....
  2. Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
  3. Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
  4. From the details list, check Cache and Cookies and uncheck everything else.
  5. Now click the Clear now button.

Further information can be found in the Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox article.

                                                   OR

Reload the webpage while bypassing the cache using one of the following steps:

  • Hold down the Shift key and click the Reload button with a left click.

OR

  • Press Ctrl + F5 or Ctrl + Shift + R (Windows and Linux)
  • Press Command + Shift + R (Mac)

Let us know if this solves the issues you are having. Thank You

I didnt clear the cache first. But it now works. Thank you.

But why would this be happening on a new PC? Bypass the cache every time?
