the new version won't work with my AVG-antivirus I had to uninstall

My problem is the exact opposite of the other people. AVG is just fine, it was the latest version of Firefox I deleted after it told me my AVG anti-virus program wasn't compatible now. I want to re-install my old version because I completely uninstalled it from my programs list.

AVG has been working hard to keep up with Firefox's rapidly advancing version numbers. Support for Firefox 11 was released in Service Pack 1 according to this post from the AVG forums (yesterday): AVG Forums - Weekly Overview: 14/2012.

However, you do need the latest version in order to benefit from these new patches. If you aren't already running a 2012 version, the first step would be to upgrade now.

Does it work?

Oh, to get Firefox again:

Version 11: http://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all

Version 3.6: http://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all-older

Hurrah for Service Pack 1 users (I assume this means Windows XP Service pack 1). What about XP Service pack 2?

Actually, I meant Service Pack 1 for AVG. Maybe AVG has updated by now, but if not, you could try whatever manual procedure they offer.
