Dropdown menu changed to "Translate selection to French. Has always been "Translate selection to English". I use it all the time. I don't think I changed anything. How can I set it back to English? Tried this: "To change the translation selection back to English in Firefox, go to the Language section in the General panel of Firefox settings, select English from the dropdown menu, and restart Firefox. This will revert the translation settings to English." Didn't work. System language is English (CA).

I recently bought a new laptop running on Windows 11 Pro. All my settings for languages (English GB) in Firefox are the same as my old laptop, which was Windows 10.

On my W11Pro laptop, the translation icon doesn't appear when I highlight a portion of text in a foreign language, whereas it did appear in my old laptop. If I right click on the highlighted text I can access "translate selected text" but nothing happens when I click on that. Translating an entire webpage works fine, it's just the highlighted text that doesn't.

I'm not very technically minded, so any answer will need to be in simple terms! Thanks.

It's checked in settings, the US english language pack is installed, I did the about:config thing as well and it's still not working. Oh yeah, also used troubleshoot mode - turned off all addons - and still doesn't work.

If I search for something else it comes up in English. I have gone to settings and set my default as English. I have followed all the instructions, but I still get French. How can I change this. I am not French speaking.

Podobno ma się ona pokazywać automatycznie gdy Firefox wykryje stronę w języku innym niż ustawiony jako domyślny język interfejsu i komunikatów - nie pokazuje się automatycznie, lub Firefox nie wykrywa języka w jakim wyświetla się strona. Za to - w "hamburgerze" (przycisku Ustawień w górnym prawym rogu) pojawiła się opcja "Przetłumacz stronę" - 1 kliknięcie "hamburger", 2 kliknięcie "przetłumacz stronę", 3 kliknięcie - potwierdź polecenie przetłumaczenia strony .... bez sensu !!! Zamiast jednego kliknięcia w ikonkę na pasku adresu !

Żadne to ułatwienie, czy polepszenie komfortu użytkowania przeglądarki - powinno to być poprawione natychmiast i wrócić do poprzedniej formy ikonki wyświetlanej właśnie na pasku adresu !

I have installed the English GB language for spellchecking, but it doesnt show in the dropdown menu. It only shows Dutch.

When I write emails or whatsapp messages Firefox signals as false all the words that don't conform English orthography. I would like to switch language either automatically or quickly. What do I have to do?

I've used firefox for the past few years, swapping over from Chrome and for the last few months FF has asked to translate every new page I visit, and the option to "never translate english" is always grayed out. I've tried this in incognito mode, on my laptop and with no addons - the bug persists. Yet still I am unable to find any similar problem online that has this issue... which boggles my mind, since it should be prevalent if a lot of people had this problem. So - anyone who has any idea what could be causing this out of seemingly nowhere, that is persists across computers and without addons?

I have downloaded downloaded language packs English UK and French France, but when I spell check in Mozilla the only option in the open menu for language there is only English US to use even though the other two preferred languages have been downloaded. Am I missing a trick to activate the languages so that they show in my language menu when spell checking?

Very frustrating that I only have a default of US considering I am in France and use French and UK English.
