cannot open down loads ,i have windows vista , fire fox will not open downloads

please keep it simple for me to understand ..i have windows vista ,, 32 bit .. on a gateway .. when i download to fire fox ,,it will not let me open the window to finish download , in the past it was working ,,but then in the last few weeks it doesnot ,, please help .. vista sucks ,,nothing but problems from day one . Hi brentsboats, you can bring up the Downloads window either by going to Tools > Downloads or pressing the shortcut SHIFT+CTRL+Y.

I suggest also you update your Firefox to the latest version.

that does not work ,, i will try to explain again ,, if i were to try and download the latest fire fox ,,it will down load ,,and i can see it in the window ,,but when i go to hit open ,,the letters that say open are like in a fog and it wont do anything ,,i started having problems with this about 3 weeks ago ,i have removed just about everything i can ,,including all of my msn stuff ,, it really has me by my ass . i have also gone to system restore several times ,,, so again people ,,please understand ,,i can download and see them in the window ,,but when i go to hit the open ,,the letters are in a fog and nothing happens
