have just updated firefox 8 took 9+ mins. then I get asked to update again. why?

I am prompted to update. So I do this by clicking on the prompt and I can see the update loading (about 9mins) and it finishes and goes to a screen saying I am nearly there...and then it starts to ask me to update as I am using an old version. annoying and a waste of my time!

  • get fresh installler from getfirefox.com
  • Remove Firefox fully, also remove Program Files/Mozilla Firefox folder
  • run a clean install and try
