Chosen solution

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > General : Accessibility : [ ] "Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page"

The setting in "Tools > Options > Advanced > General" is meant as an accessibility feature, as you can see by the label of that section, so that people with disabilities or people who use screen readers do not get confused and is not meant as a safety protection to stop redirecting.

If you click the Allow button on that bar at the top, the page will load.

Thank you for replying finitarry. I am well aware of how to access the Page by clicking allow. What I want to do,is completely stop this message and toolbar appearing every time I click on a link on a site which I am visiting. I see no useful purpose for it,especially when it comes on after clicking on the link in the E-mail message from Firefox redirecting me back to its own site to confirm my log in details. It also came on when I clicked on the link to read your message Thanks again for your help

One thing it stops is auto-refreshing of a page, which I find maddening. To turn that thing off, go into about:config and change this setting:

  • accessibility.blockautorefresh - set to false
