I just noticed that the scaling background image in the website I am about to launch seems to be somewhat smaller in 4.0.1 vs 3.6.x

Firefox 4 seems to stretch the background image to make it fill the entire window. You can see that if you make the window smaller or wider. It may be interpreting background-size: 100% 100%, auto; differently.
