Every time I open my browser, the "check your plugins" page opens in a second tab. I've updated everything, but it still automatically opens everytime I open the browser window. How can I make it stop?

ALSO, Adobe Acrobat always says it needs to be updated, no matter how many times I update it.

I'm still using an older version of Firefox, I tried Firefox 4, and it gave me problems like it wouldn't open on my homepage. It would only open a blank tab and all of my bookmarks disappeared. I tried so many tricks that I read other people did to resolve that issue, but nothing seemed to work,so I just gave up and went back to the older version. If possible, I'd like some help there, too, if you have any suggestions or answers.

Thank you SO much!
