I selected No to Firefox being able to change my computer settings/hardware and it would not continue to download after this point. Why?

I have bought a new laptop and was trying to download Firefox as my preferred browser. The process started but it asked me if I wanted Firefox to change settings in my computer and was defaulted to 'No' which I accepted. After this point it appeared to stop the download.

Can you help?

Did you try to download and install Firefox another time?

No. Do I need to allow it to make changes?

If you install a new program then that program needs to make changes to the computer by installing files and updating registry keys. Vague messages like that won't help to know which settings need to be changed. It is possible that only adding or changing registry keys is causing it in this case.

Many thanks.

I will select Yes to make changes.
