can't start firefox 'cause it notifies me that there is allready a copy running, but that's not true. Please help.

I get this message when i try to start a Firefox:

Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system

I did restart many times but it is a bogus message because there isn't any other copy running, for sure.

You can check if you still have a (default) profile folder as listed in profiles.ini.
If not then delete profiles.ini and let Firefox create a new default profile.
