The download of Firefox 3.6.9 paused

Firefox has always updated automatically for me when the browser opens, as indicated in the settings. I have not had an update since 3.6.8, although version 3.6.9 dates from Sept. 2010. One of the drop-down tabs under "Help" indicates "Resume Downloading Firefox 3.6.9", but when I open this field the download does not continue. Please advise. Thank you.

Remove the files in the updates and updates\0 folder:
