Thunderbird sending all inbox messages to deleted (bug2068847)

enquiries51

This morning Thunderbird asked me to update which I duly did. Once done all messages started disappearing from inbox. Eventually I found them and moved them back to inbox only for it to happen again

Have now tried 3 times, same result, every single email from Inbox keeps being moved to deleted in Local Folders

All new emails that have come in since appear for a micro second in Inbox before being moved to Deleted

This is obviously not a great situation to put it mildly and as it has never happened before and started straight after this morning's update I can only assume that the update is to blame

Any help would be greatly appreciated

If you are using filters, make sure none of them have a blank (empty) field.

Please download and install https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/candidates/155.0.1-candidates/build1/win64/en-US/Thunderbird%20Setup%20155.0.1.exe if you are running 155.0 on Windows - it has a fix which has been tested. We would value your immediate feedback that it resolves your problem without introducing new problems.

Thanks all, after getting Ed's reply I looked at my filters again and found one in my Blocked List which had a blank field. Removed it and everything seems to be OK today

(I had already had a quick glance through them but what they said made me think that would cause such an issue so I looked again)

Still puzzled as to why this suddenly happened after an update from Tbird...

It's just another bug :-)

So the filter you changed was incorrectly constructed? Or did you really intend/want the "blank" condition?
