I uninstalled old version of Thunderbird. Attempted to install current Thunderbird but always returns me to the version I just uninstalled.

If you had uninstalled thunderbird, that wouldn't happen, so I must assume that it was not uninstalled. Please click settings and scroll down to 'Thunderbird Updates' and click the 'show update history' button and create a screenshot and post it. thank you.
