Unable to download (trusted sites, Firefox apps/themes, anything)
For a week or better I have been unable to download anything through my Firefox browser, I have refreshed and uninstalled Firefox (I had to reinstall through another browser) in an attempt to fix this issue to no avail. I cannot download from verified sites, nor am I able to download Firefox's own extensions or themes (when I attempt I get an error telling me to check my connection, screenshot included).
I would like to be able to use Firefox normally again, with the ability to download files and install my extensions restored.

Week later, issue persists. :(
Since I see the UBlock Origin logo there; can you try temporarily disabling it? Was this mobile/android, or windows/mac/linux? Thanks!

Hello, thank you for the reply!
The screenshot is from Firefox's extension download page, that's why there is the uBlock Origin logo, as I was providing a screenshot of the error I get when I try to download an extension (in this case: uBlock Origin). This is the same error that occurs with downloading themes. Because of refreshing Firefox, I do not have any extensions.
All other download attempts are simply displayed as "Failed" in the in-browser downloads drop-down.
Bit of an oversight on my part not mentioning that my issue is with Firefox for Windows!
To work out what is going on we'll need some more information.
Can you elaborate on where you're downloading things from, and how you're downloading (right click and then "save as", or clicking a link that normally results in a download, or some other way)? Are you just clicking "Add to Firefox" on the addons.mozilla.org website?
We could get some more logging information about what is going wrong if you follow the following steps:
- In the address bar, type about:config and press the Enter key.
- The about:config warning page may appear. Click Accept the Risk and Continue to continue to the about:config page.
- Filter for browser.download.loglevel, and change the value by clicking the pencil icon next to it on the right. Set the value to all.
- open the browser console (press ctrl-shift-J)
- clear the console contents (press the trashcan/bin icon on the top left)
- try to download something
- copy/paste any messages that appear in the browser console here.
Hopefully we can get to the bottom of this soon!
