I just upgraded my Ubuntu 18.04 to 20.04 and found that Firefox (which was working perfectly before), does not work properly. Graphics (eg. profile pics on various websites) are not displayed, buttons of websites are often missing, some websites are displayed in a weird "zoomed out" way.

With Google Chrome, I don't have these issues so it does not seem to be a Linux thing...

I already tried reinstalling Firefox, but to no avail...

Help is appreciated as I would not want to migrate away from Firefox which has worked well for me for years...

Regards!

Chosen solution

I added the "javascript.enabled=true" preference to about:config. Then, I used the "refresh Firefox" feature found via 3 bar menu -> help -> more troubleshooting information.

That magically fixed everything (no idea which of the two or both of them were necessary, just listing it here for reference).

You might need to disable hardware acceleration. Do you know if Firefox was using hardware acceleration on 18.04? You can see in the about:support Graphics Decision Log.
