On a Mac, drag file from download - not working
I am suddenly unable to drag downloaded files from firefox to a folder on my mac. This is a new issue - always worked before. What's the fix? Thanks
/edit: moved thread from Firefox for iOS (for iPhone/iPad) to Firefox section as you have macOS on your Mac.

Hi fraune, where do you normally drag the file from? Is it the Downloads list (Command+J)?
When I download a file in firefox, it appears in the top right area, just below the tabs area, where the download symbol is. I then click that dropdown list, click on the file, and drag it to whichever computer folder I need it in. I just use the mouse, click and hold, drag and drop. Now, when I click and hold, I can drag, but then the file image turns grey and a null symbol appears over it and it won't drop anywhere. Thanks
Hi fraune, hank you for checking on that.
There are numerous reports from other Mac OS users of this same issue with Firefox 111.0, starting last Thursday. I don't know whether it affects everyone on Mac OS, or whether it might be a Firefox or system settings issue. If I hear of any suggestions from the developers or requests for information, I will pass them along in a later reply.
Until this is sorted out, you could consider using the magnifying glass icon on the right side of the download on the list. That button should launch a new Finder window with the download highlighted so you can access the file wherever it was saved at the time of download (either to work with it or move it somewhere else).
