Hello, I love using firefox but I tend to open many tabs. I close them often but I noticed in taskmanager that closed tabs were continuing to use RAM. How can I disable this from happening. (I read a few articles mentioning about:memory about:performance ??? I'm not an expert but I don't mind doing it manually) Thanks

Hi majet512, Try using Menu -> Exit to see if that helps close all of your tabs. Also, you might want to consider doing a Refresh.

If you decide to do a Refresh be sure to keep the "Old Firefox Data" created to your desktop until you are sure the operation completed properly.

I run about:memory and use the buttons to do collections and minimize memory usage. I wouldn't use 'refresh' under any circumstances.

Note that this might be to be able to use "History -> Recently Closed Tabs" to reopen the tab(s) you closed. You can possibly clear/purge this list by temporarily setting browser.sessionstore.max_tabs_undo = 0 on the about:config page. Reset the pref to its default value (25) if you want to keep using this feature.
