Hey, so I've noticed for a few weeks now that across a few different websites like Reddit & Messenger, some words that are clearly meant to be swears are replaced with the same word over and over.

For example, I was talking with one of my friends earlier in Messenger on desktop and at some point he typed "son of a bitch". When I opened up Messenger on the same platform again a few hours later, I notice that it said "son of a boss" instead. I checked Messenger on my phone, and it didn't change the word there.

The same thing occurs on my Reddit account sometimes too, where similar swears are replaced with "boss".

I'm not sure if this is even a Firefox issue, but it hasn't happened anywhere else on my computer or phone before, and my friends and I can't replicate it on their devices either. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.

Warning ! ! This will log you out of sites you're logged in to. You may also lose any settings for that website.

If there is still a problem, Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}
by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).

While you are in safe mode;

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration in Firefox. Since this feature was added to Firefox it has gradually improved but there are still a few glitches.

Which extensions do you have installed in Firefox?

Perhaps you have an extension that primarily does "ad blocking" and somehow got a Filter Set to "clean up raw language wording"?

I played with an extension a few years ago that replaces Trump with Drumpf on any webpage.
