I very often get prompted to sign in again to Firefox Sync

Every few days or so, I notice that things don't get synchronised any more between my various Firefoxes (private Windows PC, work Linux PC, Android smartphone and Android tablet). The problem is always that I have to sign in again with my Firefox Account. It still remembers my user name, but I have to type in my password and occasionally also receive a confirmation email.

Does anybody know what the reason behind this could be and how to avoid this?

Chosen solution

I've found the solution in the meantime and wanted to share it in case anybody else comes across this problem.

It had to do with the add-on ForgetMeNot, which I set to delete any passwords (although I never let Firefox save them in the first place). Anyway this also got rid of the logged-in Firefox Sync. So, to resolve you have to switch off the password deletion in ForgetMeNot (not saving passwords in the general Firefox settings is fine though).

I hope this is comprehensible. If not, read this: https://github.com/Lusito/forget-me-not/issues/170

Hi holzfaeller15,

I understand that you're having to re-enter your password for your Firefox account.

You could try adding Lockwise for managing usernames/passwords for each website.

Take your passwords everywhere. {Link}

Firefox Lockwise is available for your Android and Apple devices alongside PC and Linux. (From what I understand Firefox Nightly is not compatible yet)

Thanks for your reply, WMagicModel!

However, the solution you're suggesting is not really what I'm looking for. What annoys me is the fact that I get prompted to re-enter my password at all. Why does my Firefox not keep me signed in any more but instead 'secretly' logs me out on a regular basis?

(By the way, I don't let Firefox save any passwords from websites. But that was never a problem for Firefox Sync.)
