Bookmarks - what is synchronizing with what?
I have: 1) bookmarks within FF desktop 2) FF within my VM running and 3) FF on Android 4) my Firefox-account open (on Desktop and VM)
and would like to have bookmarks synchronized.
This is supposed to be easy, but it seems not to be working. I blame myself, probably I am doing something wrong.
Desktop FF: I clear all bookmarks and import a set of bookmarks the way I want it. Okay, fine. Bookmarks on desktop is fine now.
Switch to VM a just installed Firefox... I check the bookmarks and see a whooole lot of links and stuff that probably is from ancient times. I clear those, as I want the bookmarks from desktop. So... the bookmarks from my desktop are gone.
If I start with a clean bookmark list on both FF desktop and VM and import the 'set of bookmarks' that I want into FF desktop, they might be cleared again due to FF in VM has no bookmarks...?
Reason for my question: what is synchronizing with what?
Thanks.

Thanks for the feedback. Note that I have been using Firefox for many years, almost since the beginning. I switched to Chrome maybe about a year ago and now, with the new FF v60 for Android(!), switched back to Firefox. I want both Android and desktop browsers to be the same (so they can sync)
I meanwhile found out it was confusion on my side: the Settings->Library->Bookmarks showed a very long list of 'Recently Bookmarked'. This 'recently...' list even didn't my screen and included pretty old bookmarks.
So I wrongly assumed that synchronizing didn't work.
One way or the other this 'recently' list does not show up in the manager and vainly tried to figure out an easy way to clear it. It seems though I am not the only one with that question.
Anyway, basically it is solved now, the 'recent bookmark'-list containing old bookmarks led to confusion on my part.
Hopefully one day developers will 'fix' recent bookmark list-issue (clear bookmarks older than xx days)

Hi, good question. Also good thing have backups of your bookmarks.
You speak of your desktop and the VM, where is your Android in all of this ? Is it getting synced properly ? Or are you getting it's bookmarks that are jumbled up ?
Interested in what you have to say and if have any more detail to add to this as 1 not sure it works in VM, but maybe wrong. 2 Will possibly have to get this to a supervisor. 3 will take a few days.
