TB on Mac extremely slow in deleting messages from inbox

Repair folder didn't help. Antivirus disabled didn't help. Delete .msf didn't help. deleting trash didn't help. please help. it's very annoying and it seems to be problem with newer version of TB on Mac. Thanks.

1. Define slow please with (approximate) numbers - how long when it is slow? how long when it was fast? When did it change to being slow?

2. Does it happen with every folder (not just Inbox)?

3. Is it slow if you use shift+delete?

It was AVAST that killed TB. Terrible AV software. I looked for something - Avira also sucked. I went with Sophos, but the POS doesn't let you get back files it eats as false positives.
