Can't send messages unless I'm replying to a message; "Send" is grayed out.

When I create a new message, the word "Send" (on the menu in the message) is grayed out so I can't send it.

This doesn't happen when I reply to a message; the word "Send" isn't grayed out in that case, and I am able to send the message.

Chosen solution

Send is not available until you place a valid address in a To field. When you reply that is done automatically.
