I accidentally pressed <clear downloads> and lost all my download history. There is apparently no way of getting back. I was drowsy and my mouse click went wild by a few milimetres and hit the wrong button. They say life isn't fair but this really takes the biscuit. The <clear downloads> button should be placed somewhere where you are less likely to hit it by accident. And it should say "ARE YOU SURE?". And once its done, the same button should be changed to <RECOVER DELETED DOWNLOAD LIST> for as long as new downloads haven't commenced. The instructions given in this forum for retrieving the lost download list are for Windows users. There appears to be no help for users of other operating systems: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1009679 Firefox hasn't even backed the file up.
