“Show all windows” makes it look like my session restored, but I can’t actually select and view any windows.

My macOS golden gate 27.2 restarted without permission while I was away. Admittedly I had a lot of tabs open. When I restarted Firefox (159.0), it appeared to have lost the active tabs but restored the minimized ones. But when I selected each of them, they started to expand and then vanished. The restore previous session and recently closed tabs/windows options were greyed out. I tried restarting Firefox and the whole laptop, and it returned to the same state. HOWEVER, right clicking the Firefox icon provides a list of windows, and clicking “show all windows” displays the windows I had open, so it looks like they’re not entirely lost? When I select a window it does everything to look like it’s going to open- including greying out another application open behind it- but it just doesn’t open. Interestingly pressing “more troubleshooting information” or “new tab” seems to open a new tab in the existing window in “show all windows”.

I also tried this article: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-restore-browsing-session-backup No noticeable effect, I think the earliest backup was made too late.

I ended up opening a new window, selecting a hidden window, command-w closing the tabs, and then selecting the new window and opening recently closed tabs so that they opened visibly.
